This module is taught by veterinary surgeon Dr. Jackie Layng MVB MRCVS and will explain the normal processes involved in the functioning of the horse’s body systems. Emphasis will be placed on the inflammatory pathway and healing process within the musculoskeletal system and the resulting physical and mental effects of this.

This module is taught by veterinary surgeon Dr. Jackie Layng MVB MRCVS and
provides an in-depth look at the horse’s body structure from skeleton to soft
tissues. Emphasis is placed on the musculoskeletal system however students will
also become familiar with the different body systems i.e. respiratory, alimentary,
reproductive etc. Students will become confident identifying palpable surface
anatomy of the horse, which will be required for future therapeutic modules.
